Lately, I’ve only been able to go thru my blogs at night, so my Google Reader gets jammed with lovely updates. Yesterday was a hectic day at work… I got done with my evening meetings around 9:00 which made for a 13 hour work day. I’ll tell ya what, if they want me 40 hours a week, then I’m done working by the end of the week on Wednesday.
I keep hearing that a few of the public officials are complaining about how much money I make. If they only knew what I went through each week, then they would have no cause to complain. This was the reason for my 13 hour work day yesterday.
Speaking as a blogger, if my millage rate were to be increased for a service, a volunteer service, that did no fundraising, I’d be raising hell.
Whoops.
Here are some eats over the last few days…
Brekkie before the run

(taken with the camera)
Yummy Chinese take-out the other night.

(taken with the crackberry)

And for good measure, and I cannot remember if I’ve shared. Classic Ambrose
I missed my run yesterday due to rain in the AM and thinking I’d get time this afternoon. So I’m due for an easy run this morning, nixing my XT which I am scheduled for today for the 1/2 Marathon Training…
I said yesterday I’d take it easy getting to work, but I didn’t, and will do so today.
Today Jared and I will be part of a larger group going white water rafting at Ohiopyle, which is a state park about 1.5 hours south of Pittsburgh. I’ve never gone rafting, though have always wanted to, so I am excited about the experience. Jared keeps telling me I can’t take my Blackberry with me while rafting and I reply–”So you mean I can’t make any phone calls when I go overboard?!” I love teasing him!
I’ve got a six-mile run planned here in a few moments. I like to use the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for these longer weekend runs. If I go early, I can park at the South Side Works easily, and jump on the trail there. Best part of the trails? They are flat! I usually feel pretty good doing these flat longer runs since I run shorter hills during the work week.
Last week during blueberry picking, I got kind of sad to have gotten rid of my digital camera during the move. Before I moved, I had a yard sale (it’s amazing how much stuff you accumulate when you have a house (i.e, space) to put it all in. I’m not one for clutter, but would rather pick and choose what to put inside the house.
I digress.
Knowing I had one last pay from the County, which included vacation time I couldn’t take but got paid for, I set my sights on a new digital camera. The one I sold really was a cheapo one from Wally World I got during college, so I wanted something I little nicer. Well, I really want something a lot nicer, but let’s be real here.
I ended up getting a Nikon Coolpix S230. We went to Costco, which sold it in the store for less than what it’s listed for online. Awesome! I got a case, SD card, 50 free prints. It has this crazy feature that allows you to write on the photograph! That isn’t why I got it, though. I liked the 3″ display, the touch screen capabilities.
How do the pictures look, though?
This was shot in default mode…

This was shot in “food” mode. Funny, huh?

I will take some time with it, and will probably end up changing the settings to what I need. I’m excited to have the camera for Ohiopyle! Wait, you mean I can’t take it under water and shoot with it!? (Sarcasm!)
