I know, I know, no USB port yet. I will be back to regular blogging sometime this week. Loads of pictures to share!!
Here is a fun post that will buy me time while I wait in vain for my USB cord…
This bike seems like a great bike for riding the trails of Pittsburgh, and maybe even going off-road. Since, well, I am a huge off-road biker…
And, you know, Jared, too. Since he is a huge off-roader. Both retail at $500.
This is also the summer where I am going to want to grill and sit outside and eat our meals. This may also be the time to upgrade our Costco membership (to where you earn 1% back) to purchase this Bistro Set ($300, Costco.com).
And no deck is complete without a grill! This is another Costco.com find, $500, Bond. It has a side burner but is huge. We don’t need that big of a grill, do we?
And to keep with the theme of ridiculously expensive goods, to make your credit card debt even higher, here is a great camera package I would love to purchase…
The one “thifty” item on this page must be this chair from Value City Furniture. Despite any potential bad rumor about this VCF, I purchased my couch and love seat from them about 5 years ago (wow, I am getting old) when I had to purchase furniture. It has held up this whole time with the only mark being from Ambrose… Jared hates having a couch and loveseat, and he would like a chair. I think this is what he is looking for??
Did you know Pittsburgh is getting a Crate & Barrel? Exciting news. I guess our Turkey Day adventures to NYC will not be as special since C&B will be old news next time. I love this chest. Though, I love my yard-sale dresser, still, as much…
The Kalinda Necklace ($65, Elsewares) is simply stunning! I’m not a huge gold person, myself, but I really like jewelry that is open cut. It’s dainty and gorgeous.
I continue to love ModCloth for their fun-vintage-y styles… In particular, the Style Survivor Dress ($85, ModCloth) continues their trademark style. I would love a strolling day-date in this piece…
These flats are another really good find. I don’t buy shoes nearly as much as others, in fact, my shoe collection is rather sad. If I swear a nice pair of shoes to work, I often find they are “destroyed” because I end up walking around the streets getting them stuck in hot ashplalt, or on rainy days when sewers break. Glamorous, eh? Anyways, the Report Moxee Flats ($45, DSW) are super cute!
Here’s another good story: back in the day (5-6 years ago haha!) I used to shop at Old Navy. The quality of their clothes made some purchases worthwhile… I spotted a clearance raincoat (black, plain, the end) and spent the $10 on it). It was only last year did the thing finally wear out. Since then, I have not been able to find one I love enough to replace it… Enter the Marc New York black trench ($117, Bluefly). Though, in my mind, nothing will be as great as my $10 Old Navy trench. RIP.
I will forever be a jeans snob. Luckily for me, though, I wear jeans until they fall apart (or everything for that matter!). In particular, the “most trusted brand” I fall to in Anlo. A close runner up is William Rast and these guys, too,are perfect. I prefer a medium rise, thick waistband, flared leg, trouser cut (if available) and decals on the back pockets are optional. Those are my forever jeans. Not the “so skinny you look like you are stuffed” or “so flared you look like you are swimming in denim”. Also, yes, the jeans are expensive, but with my body (athletic, with a bigger butt), the Macy’s jeans never fit me… ever!
Finally, I am loving a yellow scarf for spring. This one is a little more expensive ($48, Nordstrom) than I would say to “spring” on, but I think you could find one on sale or clearance somewhere…
Though I realize the Livestrong movement is a tend that seems to be here to stay, I love this Livestrong 540 Fly Fav Women’s Running Hoodie ($70). Its a rather pricey investment, but will keep you warm while tailgating at Steelers or Penguins games.

Where else but the Natrona Bottling Company can you get Mint Julep, Pennsylvania Punch, and Red Ribbon Soda? Nuff said.
A Pittsburgh “landmark”, Perogies Plus is famous for the little potato-y pillows. Yum, indeed.
Every Pittsburgher, past or present, understands the beauty of the built environment, especially Grandview Avenue at night. Show case it with this illuminated print from Etsy.
I am really excited for this event since I totally slept on the last Handmade Arcade!
Finally….
This Frosty Tin Marshmallows Apron ($85, Ice Milk Aprons) is so-so cute. It is dainty and pretty and pretty over the top for any real baking, but I’d image you’d whip this apron on after all of the all hard work is done.
This picture says it all. I need to be on a beach away from work, the weather, and life, breathing in some Herban Essentials All Natural Towellettes ($15, Shop Planet Blue). I would take one of each because I need refreshed, energized, and healed! ha!
Oh Boy. When I saw this it was love at first sight. But much like any split decision, the cost of this jacket is questionable. The J Crew Baracuta G10 Jacket ($325) is quite the investment. Though, to find a vintage Baracuta would be more fun and a lot less expensive!
I love this pretty Coral 3/4 Sleeve Top ($32, Banana Republic) with color bright enough to remind you spring is (thankfully) around the corner.
Finally, I love turquoise. I love this turquoise and tiger eye necklace ($164, Shop Planet Blue) as a perfect statement piece to take you through spring, summer, and fall!
I will be back to regular blogger, probably tonight, thanks in part to another 15 hour work day!
If you are stuck with cabin fever, here are few fun clicks to break the boredom!!
The cupcake craze is a bit more than I can handle. I mean, bakery shops that specialize in cupcakes? Free markets at their best. If I were making all of my sisters cupcakes for her bridal shower myself, I would certainly have no problem purchasing these super cute mini cupcake wrappers ($9, Bella Cupcake Couture) to display them in.
Love, love, love these crrazy shoes! I am a big fan of traditional (boring?) dress and spicing up the shoes. I think there is something to be said for “fun” shoes that allow some sort of freedom and style… Check out these shoes from Anne Klein ($75, Zappos).
Usually, I don’t recommend entire outfits during my fun clicks, but I seriously love this whole outfit from Boden ($$$, Boden USA). Something about the jacket color makes this outfit muted yet wonderful. Cash that income tax check.
As the owner of two lululemon tanks, I admit they fit and wear nicely. I also admit they were pricey compared to my usual routine of purchasing workout clothes from Marshall’s and keeping them for years. I hope I have the same experience with my lululemon tanks. I remember the sales person trying to talk me into the Run: Swifty Racerback without much luck. It’s $52. Quite the investment…
